Digging garden beds

Digging garden beds

Are you interested in learning how to live a simple, self-sufficient lifestyle?  This internship will provide you with the opportunity to learn more about gardening, small-scale construction projects, food preservation, and food preparation in a beautiful setting in northeast Monroe County.

We have a 5-acre homestead; about 2.5 acres of pasture and 2.5 acres of woodland.  We are currently selling bread and other baked goods (made with locally-grown flour and organic ingredients) at the Bloomington Community Farmers Market.  We would like to expand to pickles made with our own cucumbers and sandwiches using locally grown products and our own bread.  We have put in an organic vegetable garden (primarily for our own consumption) and have a 40×14 ft. greenhouse.  We still have many, many projects underway.

We would need someone who has reliable transportation (we live about 7-8 miles from Bloomington) and who is willing to come one or more days a week, Mon-Wed.  At this time, we would not be able to offer payment, but would most certainly provide you with lunch.
